Sumita Malik is an innovative educationist with over twenty-six years of experience in the eld. During this vast career span, she has been an accomplished teacher, mentor, curriculum developer, administrator with an expertise in conducting workshops for teachers and parents, education research and business development. She is very passionate about education reforms, especially at the primary and pre-primary levels. Sumita truly believes that early childhood is the most critical period when the foundation for life long development is laid and this requires special care in enabling an environment rich in learning experiences.

She started her journey as an educator at Junior Raghubir Singh Modern School, Delhi and eventually built and headed the Foundation department (Nursery to grade III) at The Heritage School, Vasant Kunj, Delhi. During this time, she delved deep into research to seek an understanding of educational approaches to teaching language during early childhood. After an association of almost 13 years with The Heritage School, she moved on to heading a chain of international pre-schools –’Rumi Kids’ an initiative of Richard Chandler Corporation Singapore, as the Principal and Business head.

She is also currently working as the Territory Head Delhi of E.C.A. (Early Childhood Association) and is Proud to be currently heading the Early Years, Shiv Nadar School, Noida for more than six years. She had the honor to present a paper on ‘Inclusive Practices’ during the Conference on “Every Child’s Right to Early Childhood Education’ organized by AECED, CECED and TIS on 22nd November 2018. She has also written and published a paper on ‘Anxiety and low self-esteem in early years’. Being an avid reader and sports follower, Sumita brings in the culture of reading and critical thinking in the academic space.
